The local Stretford darts players - Chris Mcgrory, Ricky Shelmerdine, Gary Middleton and Darren Buckley – are attempting to break the world record for the longest darts playing marathon ever. The current world record for playing darts non-stop stands at 30 hours.

Two Day Darts Challenge

The players from the Stretford and District 501 amateur darts league will aim to break the record by stocking up on darts equipment and playing the game non-stop for two hours at a time, with a two hour break in between each stint. Chris Mcgrory told the local paper: “We just fancied doing it for the craic really, we wanted to see if we could actually do it and we felt it was a good way of raising money for charity.” The money raised (as well as helping pay for all that darts equipment!) will go to the Forever Manchester Infinity Fund and Foundation.
